About the Program


Bvoc TTM is a Skill Development program based on Travel and Tourism Sector. It is a skill based program with multiple entry exit points. The primary purpose is to provide a judicious mix of skills relating to travel and tourism profession and to ensure that the students have adequate knowledge and skills so that they are work ready at each exit point of program and enhance their employability and meet the requirements of travel and tourism industry. B.Voc-TTM is essentially a credit based modular program with multiple entry and exit points. This would enable the learner to seek employment after any level of Award and join back as and when feasible to upgrade his/her Qualification/Skill competency either to move higher in his/her job or in the higher educational system. The course curriculum is aligned to Qualification Packs (QPs)/ National Occupational Standards (NOSs) of selected job roles within the travel and tourism sector.

It is undergraduate program started in the year 2017 initiated by Department of education Govt. of Assam. This Program is affiliated to Gauhati University. It is a Full time 3year degree program which is has 6 semester and After completion of this one can directly join to industry or can also do their further studies in the same field in any Government and Private higher education institutes like Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management, Dibrugarh University, Tezpur Central University, Assam University, Sikkim University, Royal Global University, North East Hills University etc.

The public sector has opportunities in the Directorates and Departments of Tourism of the Centre and the State as Officers, Information Assistants, and Tourist Guides etc. The private sector has opportunities in travel agencies, tour operators, airlines, hotels, transport and cargo companies etc.

The travel and tourism industry is growing tremendously and will continue so in the coming years. In India the travel industry hopes to create 46 million job opportunities by 2025.
