Admission Procedure:




Eligibility Criteria:


(A) Higher Secondary Course: Students who have passed the High School Leaving Certificate (H.S.L.C.) Examination of the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA), or any other equivalent examination, are eligible for admission to the Higher Secondary Course.

(B) Three-Year Degree Course (B.A.): Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (H.S.S.L.C.) Examination of the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) or any other equivalent examination, are eligible for admission to the Three-Year Degree Course in Arts stream offered by the college.

(B 1.1): Honours/Major Course: Eligibility of Candidates aspiring to opt for Honours/Major Course shall be determined by the Credit Point secured.

* Credit Point= Total Marks secured by the candidate in HSSLC + Percentage obtained in the subject in which the candidate desires to take Honours/Major

(B 1.2): General/ Regular Course: Admission to the General/Regular Course shall be made based on the total marks secured by the candidate in HSSLC which is calculated as .

*Total Marks= Percentage of Marks in English + Percentage of Marks in Modern Indian Language(MIL)/ Alternative English(AltEng) + Percentage of Marks secured in 2nd Elective + Percentage of Marks secured in 3rd elective as chosen by the candidate

Under Graduate Course is 500

Admission Rules:


A candidate seeking admission to the college must follow the mentioned procedure:

  1. Procure the College Admission Form and the College Prospectus upon payment of a nominal fee at the College Office as per the College notification.
  2. Fill up the admission form according to the instructions given in it.
  3. Submit the admission form along with his/her self-attested Photostat copies of the following documents to the college authorities –
    • H.S.L.C and H.S.S.L.C Marksheet.
    • HSLC Admit Card/Certificate for age verification.
    • Provisional certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.
    • Gap certificate in case the student has passed any qualifying examination(s) earlier.
    • Caste certificate countersigned by D.C./S.D.O. (in case of SC/ST/OBC/MOBC).
    • Migration/Transfer Certificate in case of transfer from other University/Council.
    • Certificate of Proficiency in Co-curricular activities if any.
  4. Candidates must submit the filled up admission form along with the self-attested photocopies of the above mentioned documents in the College Office within the stipulated time period as mentioned by the College authority.
  5. Candidates whose parents’ income is less than Rs. 2 lakh per annum are eligible for free admission under the Govt. Scheme for waiver of Admission Fee for students in H.S. First Year and Under Graduate Degree First Year.
  6. The College strictly follows the guidelines regarding reservation of seats for the SC/ST/OBC/MOBC and physically challenged students as per the Government of India notification.

    Seats are reserved for candidates belonging to different categories in the following manner-

    SC: 07%
    ST(P): 10%
    ST(H): 05%
    OBC/MOBC: 15%
    Physically Challenged: 03%
    Co-Curricular Proficiency: 02%
  7. Admission is given to the candidates in order of merit and is governed by the college admission rules.
  8. The Admission Committee of the College supervises the entire Admission Process.
  9. The Committee prepares the merit list and displays it on the college notice board.
  10. The dates of admission are also declared by the committee and displayed on the college notice board.
  11. Selected candidates must appear on the day of the interview in person or through his/her representatives
  12. Candidates must make the necessary payments and produce the Original copies of their marksheets and other certificates for verification on the day of the admission failing which the college reserves the right to refuse admission.
  13. Students seeking free admission under the Government’s Scheme for waiver of Admission Fee for Below Poverty Line category( parents income below Rs.2 lakh per annum) must produce an Income Certificate of their parents duly signed by Local Revenue .Circle Officer/ Mouzadar and a photograph of their’s showing sapling plantation at college or home.
  14. The decision of the Admission Committee regarding admission is considered final.
  15. The date of Commencement of classes shall be notified on the day of admission.
