| PLANATATION DRIVE under CMIPP |
The NSS unit of Saraighat College has organised a plantation drive under Chief Minister institutional plantation program (CMIPP) 18th July- 15th August, 2022. | FLOOD RELIEF DISTRIBUTION |
The NSS Unit of the Saraighat College associated its volunteers in the flood relief distribution program that was organized by the Teachers Unit and Extension Cell of the college to support the people of the affected areas of flood. Due to devastating flood most of the inhabitants living the adjacent areas of the college had been suffered badly. Therefore, the faculties and students of the college under different banners extended their helping hands to the affected people by offering packets of edible items and other basic essentials |

| WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY |
The NSS unit of Saraighat College had participated in the central celebration of the World Environment Day (Only One Earth) in the college campus on 5th June, 2022. On this occasion, a tree plantation drive was inaugurated by Dr. Mani Sarmah, Principal, of this College and Prof. Abani Kumar Bhagawati, retired Prof. of the Gauhati Univrsity was also present in this event. Prof. Bhagawati delivered the main lecture on the theme of this event. Total 45 NSS volunteers had participated in this program. |

One day training program on ‘Men in Menstruation’ had been organized by the District Administration, Kamrup-Rural at IIT main auditorium in Amingaon on 30th of May 2022. Total 44 NSS volunteers along with the program officer had participated in this one-day training program. |

| YOGA TRAINING PROGRAM |
The NSS Unit of Saraighat College had organized one day Yoga Training Program on 14th May 2022 in the Seminar Hall of Saraighat College. The meeting was presided by Dr. Mani Sarmah, Principal of Saraighat College. He also delivered a lecture on Yoga and Health. After the lecture all participants had participated in the Yoga Practice. Total 47 NSS Volunteers had participated in this program. |

| SHAHEEDI DIWAS & CLEANESS DRIVE |
On 23rd & 24th March 2022, the NSS unit of Saraighat college had celebrated Shaheedi Diwas as a part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahastsav’ in the college campus. On 23rd March, the NSS unit organized a seminar at seminar hall. Total 49 NSS volunteers had participated in this program. On 24th March the Unit also organized a cleanliness drive in the college campus. 45 NSS volunteers participated in this program. |

| ORIENTATION PROGRAM |
A one-day orientation program for newly inducted NSS volunteers was organized by the NSS unit of Saraighat College. | HELPING HAND TO NSS VOLUNTEER FAMILY |
A helping hand has been extend from NSS cell, Saraighat college to the economically weak family of late Nitul Boro, Changsari; an active national Level Volunteer of NSS. It was very unfortunate to know the sudden dismiss of late Nitul Boro due to lack of proper treatment. NSS cell has payed a visit on 25/09/2020 to the family and offered prayer for departed soul and sympathy to his family member. A small amount of Rs 5500/-has been donated by NSS cell to his family members as token of care and Sympathy on the day |

| COVID-19 PROGRAM & FOOD DISTRIBUTION |
During the COVID-19 lockdown period, on 3rd & 4th June 2020, the NSS unit of Saraighat College distributed relief materials to the needy families as its goodwill and humanitarian gesture. The packets of relief material contained with essential food and other items and distributed in Katamur, the adopted village of the institution near Silla, Amingaon. The unit had distributed relief items to the 69 poor families of this village. Total 10 NSS volunteers, guided by the program officer had participated in this program. |

| PARTICIPATION IN THE ‘SWACHH BHARAT ABHIJAN-PRE- RD PARADE CAMP – 2019’ |
One NSS volunteer of Saraighat College, Ms Beauty Chaudhury had participated – East Zone Pre – RD parade camp (2019) held in the National Institute of Technology- Durgapur, West Bengal. It was held from 8th to 17th November in the year 2019. This pre – Republic Day camp was organized prior to the beginning of the Republic Day camp to select the NSS volunteers on the basis of their performance in the parade and cultural activities. |

| RASTRIYA EKTA DIWAS |
Rastriya Ekta Diwas was celebrated by the NSS unit of Saraighat College on 31st October 2019 on the occasion of Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. As a part of this program a students’ rally was organized from the campus of the college to Dhupatari via Changsari H.S School. More than 60 volunteers had participated in the rally. The rally was inaugurated by D.K. Saikia, Principal of Saraighat College. After the rally a seminar was also conducted in the seminar hall. |

| GANDHI JAYANTI CELEBRATION |
On 2nd October 2019, Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated in the college campus. On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Dr. B. Patgiri and Dr. B. Hazarika had played the role of resource persons. In this program the relevance of M.K Gandhi’s work and ideal in the present situation was discussed. Total 80 NSS volunteers had participated in this program. | PARTICIPATION IN WORKSHOP ON- CAPACITY BUILDING |
On 30th September 2019, total 36 volunteers of NSS and the program officer of Saraighat College had participated in a special workshop organized by the G.U. NSS cell and North Guwahati College. The topic of this Workshop was ‘Capacity Building of the Youth on Substance Abuses Prevention’. It provided all the essential aspects and various forms of abuses to the participants. |

A free health check-up camp was organized by the NSS Unit in collaboration with the Extension Cell of Saraighat College with the active assistance from the premier Healthcare agency GNRC, Assam on 25th of September in the campus of the institution. Total 260 students including the NSS volunteers and college stuff had participated in this program. A team of doctors from the GNRC had checked-up B.P, RBS, ECG, etc. |

On 4th September 2019, under Swachhata Pakhwada Program, a door-to-door campaigning program was organised by the NSS Unit of Saraighat College in Katamur adopted village. Under this program the participants sensitized 60 families with the perceptions of cleanliness and hygiene. |

On 9th & 10th August, 2019, under the ‘Sawachhata Pakhwada’, a door-to-door campaign program was organized by the NSS Unit of the Saraighat College in the adopted village Katamur, Silla. Hazarika had visited the houses of the villagers and they explained the people about different aspects of cleanliness in their area of inhabitation. |

| SAWACHHATA PAKHWADA PROGRAM |
On 6th & 8th August 2019, an awareness program about cleanliness or the ‘Sawachhata’, was organized by the NSS Unit of Saraighat College involving the students of BA 5th Semester / BA 1st Semester / HS 1st & 2nd Year. As a part and parcel of this program more than 500 students had been sensitized through awareness lectures. It was found that the participants in this program became highly benefited going through the contents. |

| NATIONAL UNITY DAY |
Rastriya Ekta Divas, has been observed by the NSS Unit of Saraighat College on 31st October 2018. The day was celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who had played a major role in the political integration of India. In this program teachers and students had delivered their lectures about the Iron Man Vallabhbhai Patel. Specially, Dr. Balendra Patgiri & Dr. Bhanu Hazarika highlighted the aims and objectives of the National Unity Day to the audience students. The students had been found the lectures highly enjoyable and informative. 76 numbers of the NSS volunteers have participated in this program. |

| Awareness Program on Tobacco-Free Free Assam |
The Department of Philosophy, in consonance with the aim to serve the people of adjacent village of the institution as part of the outreach activities organized a two days program of Awareness on Tobacco- Free Assam in the Katamur village, Changsari Assam. The Campaign-motto of the program was an integral part of another more inclusive theme ‘Swachata-Hi-Sewa’. Through door-to-door campaign and meetings in the village faculty and student-volunteers of the NSS Unit Saraighat college helped the villagers aware about the evils related to the practice of consumption of the tobacco products. Elders were encouraged to educate their respective family members and friends to abstain from tobacco use in the day-to-day life.
With the help of the teachers, students of the lower primary school located in the village had been sensitized about the evils of different tobacco related diseases. They took oath not to use tobacco in their life and also agreed to help the existing users abdicate the pract |

| Free Health Check-up Camp |
A free Health Check-up Camp hadbeen organized by the NSS Unit Saraighat College in collaboration with the GNRC Hospital at Katamur (Adopted Village) on 15-11-2017. The Camp was inaugurated by the renowned social worker Mr.HoliramBoro, who is acting President, DularaiBoroHarimoAfat (U.B.P.O)- a socio-economic organization of the Bodo community. A team of doctors and medical staff from the GNRC served the patients of the village in this program. Around 168 villagers of different age groups had been benefited by this Health Camp. |

| Child Rights and the Child-friendly World |
In this program 60 nos. of NSS volunteers along with the program officer of Saraighat College participated. The program was organized by the Gauhati University in collaboration with Kailash Satyarthi Children's Foundation, at G. U. campus on 22nd September 2017.
The objective of the campaign was to engage, inspire and mobilize people from diverse background to build a Child friendly world. The main theme of this program was related to Child Rights with special focus on Child Trafficking and Child labour by creating awareness amongst the citizens which launched by Novel Peace Laureate Mr.Kailash Satyarthi. |

| International Yoga Day |
In alignment with the national policy of celebration of the International Yoga Day, the Saraighat College NSS unit observed the day in two places. In the college premises its volunteers facilitated the program and also send twenty numbers of its members to the Gauhati University. Being an affiliated institution of the Gauhati University, the Saraighat College NSS Unit with its volunteers have participated in all the programs of the day and earned accolade from the guests invited to the program. |

| North East NSS Festival |
This Program was organized and facilitated by the NSS Unit, Gauhati University to share thoughts related to future planning of the NSS operation in North Eastern India in the days to come. For that purpose, the Gauhati University invited all the NSS Units of the affiliated colleges and other institutions of entire North Eastern India. The Saraighat College Unit of NSS participated in this program with 10 numbers of volunteers and the concerned officer. |
